We’ll present results of an AR experiment done with the building permit officials at the City of Oulu in a seminar next week, June Wed 13th 12.30 onwards.
Our work spearheads widespread everyday usage of AR on site for viewing building plans. Using standard mobile devices with the Playsign app. Under the hood, much of the work was figuring out the building permit process and relevant backend systems, and how 3D / BIM models are taken into use there.
There’s a live demo of the AR solution at the event and it will remain in use for gathering more feedback. We continue the work with partners for widespread commercial deployment later this year.
